Boyd Owen

Boyd studied at the Melba Conservatorium of Music, Melbourne, Australia; and since 2006 has spent much of his time touring internationally. He joined The Ten Tenors in 2009 and is the singing voice behind Fosters’ recent ad campaign Slow Motion – made from Beer for the beer Carlton Draught. He also released a solo album title Songno. Boyd appeared in the cast of the workshop season of the new Broadway musical, Angels. Over the next few years Boyd will be performing extensively in China, in particular Shanghai and Beijing.

Whilst touring with the The Ten Tenors, highlights for Boyd have been: visiting famous theatres around the world; TV appearances such as the Jerry Lewis Telethon – USA, Carols by Candlelight – Australia, Verstehen sie Spass – Germany, and the Allsång festivals in Norway and Sweden; as well as recording Amigos Para Siempre live in Madrid with the RTVE orchestra.

His operatic experience in both Australia and USA has included Basilio and Curzio in Mozart’s The Marriage Of Figaro; Alfredo and Gastone in Verdi’s La Traviata; Tito understudy in Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito; as well as understudy roles in of Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte and Monteverdi’s L’Incoronazione di Poppea.

When not performing Boyd enjoys catching a great film, exploring business and finance, travelling, studying languages, mail art and creating wonders in the kitchen.
